‘Our Vision for the future is to continue developing strong future community and world leaders and innovators who are at the forefront of every new era of technology. We will achieve our Vision by respecting and following our history of tradition.’
Our brotherhood is built on a foundation that has flourished for almost 200 years nationally and for over 160 years here at Rensselaer. The traditions of Delta Phi have instilled a common bond in brothers from year to year. While our traditions have been modified and updated to fit the times, the pillars of brotherhood, morality and literature handed down from our founders have endured and still guide our brothers from their time at university for their entire lives. We believe they apply to our brothers every day.
Brotherhood is the very bond that is forged between all of us while we are here at Rensselaer. We make sure to create an environment at The Academy and through the activities of our chapter where lasting friendships can be made while in school.
Morality applies to the way we all live our lives. That means we think about things like how and when to use AI in our schoolwork and learning; not taking inappropriate shortcuts for short-term gain; and respecting our fellow brothers and treating them as family.
Literature means learning to us. We make an effort to learn from the successes of our alumni, and we share that learning with our younger brothers. In The Academy, we provide a place where everyone can study, work, explore and succeed. We know that adhering to these principles works and we regularly measure how it is reflected in the academic performance of our brothers. We also sponsor scholarship awards for undergraduate academic achievement. The result – our undergraduate brothers achieved the highest Spring 2025 cumulative GPA (3.4360) of all the Greek houses at Rensselaer.
The guiding pillars of our fraternity are anchored by a foundation of philanthropy. We want our brothers to be well-rounded, and to understand the value of giving back to their community. As alumni, we try to teach by example. Our top priority is investing in the futures of our undergraduate brothers:
- sharing our knowledge and experience; providing guidance during their years at Rensselaer;
- helping to support our undergrads’ involvement in academics and in the school-based clubs they participate in on campus with scholarships and dues contributions; and
- the substantial financial investment we have made in the Academy of over $2.6 Million.
We encourage our undergraduates to join in projects that benefit the local community. The Prospect Park area directly across from our Chapter house and downtown Troy have been improved by our presence and involvement` in numerous community cleanup efforts and work in local food banks.
Our Vision for the future is to continue developing strong future community and world leaders and innovators who are at the forefront of every new era of technology. We will achieve our Vision by respecting and following our history of tradition, to help mold better innovators, better leaders and better overall people for their entire lives. We will maintain and enhance our position as a leader of the Greek system at Rensselaer and see that our alumni and undergraduates are constantly working together to make our Vision a reality.
